The Builder

like a hideout in a hurricane
and how i’ve grown to loose
i longed for some forever faith
but leave it to forever fools

so many people look for more
more than a good day
some get a night light oh some of you won’t
some of us luck enough to stay

for these wheels to bend or break
i’ll have to be dead wrong
may the chariots blow away and everyone will find that they
only have each other to blame
the dry ground where they stood all day is a flood
you’ll face the rain or run for cover

now me i’m not gonna wait
i’ll waste my birthdays for the betweens
cause long as a memory serves
falling leaves an opportunity
to lay down all my train tracks
to build a lullaby and ride the first winds of winter
never looking back

are you ever gonna face the rain

so we thought with our best of walks
still we’ve grown to loose
we longed for some forever faith
yeah but turned into running fools
we’re built for getting beyond a good day
but buildings make that hard
to see your night light so good so sure and so far
some of us well we don’t want it no more

for these wheels to bend or break i’ll have to be dead wrong
for these wheels to bend or break we’ll have to be dead gone
may the chariots blow away and everyone will find that they
only have each other to blame
the dry ground where they stood all day is a flood
you’ll face the rain or run for cover
you’ll face the rain face the rain or run for cover
but i promise you
before these wheels will bend and break
everyone one will find that they only have each other
